Provincial Dinner 2013

On Friday 29th November I attended the Annual Provincial Dinner where the speaker was a retired Police officer who had worked for the SFA and UEFA he was Excellent and all the companions had many a Laugh at his jokes the evening was well attended and the food was good I did not won any raffle prizes and the evening finished around 10:30 pm

Driving Home I witnessed the emergency services travelling into the city centre unaware of the tragic incident in the Clutha vaults till I got home. I have drunk in the Clutha Vaults in the past, the last time the night before I got married, it has always been an enjoyable venue with a great atmosphere my condolences to all the families of those who died

St Vincent Plantation No 259

On Tuesday 26th I had my first meeting as M.E.Z of St. Vincent Plantation No 259

We observed a minutes silence in Honour of M.E.C Walter Gilchrist was observed

M.E.C Garry Smith the first principal of Partick visited and commented on the Degree

It was a good meeting, We carried out an Excellent Masters Degree and I gave the Obligation, and the readings for the E.M Degree

The Harmony was good with all Masonic toasts observed and the evening finished about 11 pm.

Provincial Convocation

On Monday 25th November I attended the Provincial Convocation and installation of Office Bearers

A Eulogy was given by M.E.C. James Tannock on M.E.C Walter Gilchrist

I was installed as Superintendent of Works and took photos at the harmony but did not won any raffle prizes

it was an enjoyable night and met many friends from various chapters and provinces

On Friday 22nd November I visited St John Whiteinch where I witnessed a Entered Apprentice Degree by Lodge Ruchill on a candidate
it was a very enjoyable night where all raffle prices were donated to their Annual dinner Dance to be held on 29th

Maryhill R.A.C. No296

On Tuesday 19th October I visited Maryhill Royal Arch Chapter No. 296 the chapter was well attended
But there was 1 important person missing and passed to the Grand Chapter above a great character and person
Past Principal Walter Gilchrist who passed away on Friday 15th in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. It was a short meeting. There was many stories and memories shared about walter

Wednesday 13th  I attended my Mother Chapter where we had a candidate and I did the Affiliation to the Mark  and  the  veil lecture in the Excellent Masters Degree. I also collected sponsors on behalf of my Grandson for his wellie walk on Friday

St Andrew of Glasgow R.A.C

On Tuesday 12th November I visited St. Andrew of Glasgow R.A.C No. 69 , along with M.E.C Ronnie Love from Maryhill Chapter, it was a quick meeting and a good harmony where I won a bottle of wine

On Monday  11th November I visited Lodge Centaury a lodge of Research and witnessed the installation of David Ogilvie into the chair of Right Worshipful Master a lodge which I will be attending again , I was quite tired and did not stay for harmony

Tolbooth & Cathedral R.A.C. No 67

on Monday 4th November I visited Tolbooth & Cathedral  Royal Arch Chapter No 67 as the first principal of St.Vincent Plantation No 259 where I witnessed  a  Royal Arch Degree by St rollox no. 144 on a candidate.   The Degree on the  candidate received was Excellent , the hall was quite cold and there was a cold draft at my feet,  I did not stay for the Harmony so it was a early night for me

Torrie R.A.C No 447

Along with companions from St.John R.A.C. on Wednesday 30th October we visited Torrie Chapter in Fife To witness the installation of M.E.C Lyall Forsyth into the chair of 1st Principal  by companions form Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Fife & Kinross, This was the last installation in Fife and was very well attended, and I won a bottle of Whiskey at the harmony we were also some of the last to leave and it was a great night
