Laser Engraving Machine
My Newest Toy is a A3 Laser Engraving Machine or to give it its full title “KKmoon A3 Pro 500mw Desktop USB Laser Engraving Carving Machine ”
As this comes as a kit with nothing in the box apart from a sheet with the parts list NO software or Build Guide I had to refer to YouTube for build guides although all the guides are different there is enough to build the product with little guess-work. After a lot of searching and reading I found EleksMaker Website which has a great Build Guide and Software but best of all it has a Forum For engraving Help and tutorials
the software I have tried so far is EleksCAM , T2Laser , LaserGRBL
The best software so far is EleksCAM as it is easy to get to Grips with you can print Text or Picture Graphics Easily with little learning
If you want a Laser engraving Machine that works straight out the box with no learning Forget it these are Enthusiast products and well supported by them in the forums
The Laser was the hardest to get to Grips with, The “focal point” was the hardest to set with lots of trial and error Plywood was the easiest, paper and card was quite a bit more difficult not figured it out yet, why i dont know White paper is the hardest
Nokia 925
Fast on the heals of the last purchase of a nokia 1020 i got my daughter the nokia 925
Although not the great camera on the 1020 the photos are still great and My daught has been playing around with it and uses it to its full potential The cost of this phone on “pay as you go” is £499 but on the “one Plan” on the three network it is £28 per month on a 2 year contract which give you all you can eat data with tethering enough call time to stay on the phone for almost 41days continuous
I know phones are a very personal thing you either like it or you dont but with me now having 3 nokia phones purchased for family members it is growing on me The picture quality on the 925 and the 1020 is better than my Samsung Galaxy S4 but i do like my phone But the battery life is not as good as it states not in my household anyway (due to excesive use of youtube videos ) it does tend to get rather hot after a bit of time
So if you cant decide on a phone make sure to check them out in store as well as looking at the full specification on the internet as well as reviews and forums this will give you a much more better idea of the phone you want to get

My S4
Received my New S4 today,
opened the package to find a box (the phone) a new micro Sim and a pay as you go Sim and the S-view cover
the one thing I did not like is the fact I ordered a black phone and got the accessories for the white version
why would anyone with a black phone want white headphones
the first look at the phone (still in the box)
Right get started and stop looking at it
remove all the protective covering, remove the back , insert the sim and battery but not the back cover
time to open the s-view cover and put it on in place of the original cover.
the setup ( make sure you have any account details from your old phone before you start) Switching it on starts the setup wizard which walks you through the setup
after agreeing to the terms and conditions , it sets up a Google account and a Samsung account which is linked to the dropbox account , you can set up your own email account, configure phone features,
first app to install is Samsung smart Switch (to transfer all the data from old phone ) this works a treat and does what it says Transfer everything.
Using your Google account it Automatically starts to install all the apps you had on your old phone with everything done.
The first app I wanted to install was xbmchub to do this I had to enable unknown source I then had to goto http://xbmc.org/download/ and click android this installs the xbmc after that follow the tutorial to install the media source (fusion) after this restart and you have a media player that does more than any other player it has lots of Channels for tv , movies, sport and many more although the text is very small once configured it uses icons to navigate the features and is less of a strain on the eyes once you get used to it
My impression of the phone is it is just as small as my S2 with a rubber protective case it is thinner . Holding it is easier even with the cover open, The screen is brighter than the s2 and the volume it unbelievably better cant even compare it
Well noticed 1 thing with all the active features on the phone the battery needs charged more than once a day
Will need to experiment with all the features to see which has an impact on the battery , I know gps drains it and I suppose the NEW Air gesture and smart scroll will have some sort of impact but will find out.
will have to buy a phone holder for my car as I used to sit it on the ashtray in the car when charging and using it for sat nav but S4 does not fit as good as the s2 and has slid off a few time. case cover looks good but not great protection if it falls
just ordered
just ordered a Samsung Galaxy S4 on the 3 network
Will get it Monday and transfer everything from My S2
was looking at S4 Active but the reviews say it cuts some corners and signal it rubbish cant use it if screen is Wet
will post what I think of it when I get it
