Where have I been

David Stewart Gillies Posted on 04/02/2024 by dsg25704/02/2024

Great Question what has happened since 2019. I cant blame it all on Covid but like everyone else it had an effect on my lifestyle and my membership of organizations, Some more than others, getting a letter from one saying how disappointed they were in me not attending a zoom meeting and the future fallout from there on. so my mood took a dip and I became depressed when i was told not to attend any visitations in office regalia. This  made me pretty mad and further depressed and with the hopes of ne leadership my position would improve  but to no avail. so my depression continues added to by my health and family members health.  But alas i have also been busy i am in my second year in the chair of the lodge & Council as Worshipful commander Noah. I am also Most Excellent Zerubbabel   of the Royal Arch Chapter Craig Millar No 468 which does not meet until May 2024 and Finally after 2 previous senior offices I was installed Right Worshipful Master of St. John Whiteinch No 683 on 8th December 2023 these along with other masonic activities have greatly helped with my depression and also help with my health in a small way

PGRAC Glasgow

David Stewart Gillies Posted on 27/05/2019 by dsg25727/05/2019

On Monday 27th May 2019 I attended Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Glasgow’s May Convocation. It was the Grand superintendents first meeting since his installation. There was a very good deputation from Sister provinces from around Scotland. There was a reasonable turnout of the Glasgow chapters. It was a quick meeting with Presentations to the winners for the dominoes and quiz. The Past Provincial Scribe E was given honourary Rank of Depute Grand Superintendent for his services to provincial. never won any raffles but got home reasonably early.

Mid & East Lothian Provincial Installation

David Stewart Gillies Posted on 24/02/2019 by David Gillies25/04/2019

On Saturday 23rd February 2019 I attended Mid & East Lothian Convocation and installation of the New Grand Superintendent David Weir. Due to the fact I was getting a lift we were there pretty early 10.30 am and the meeting started at 1 PM. The meeting had to be adjourned after the Deputations were received into the Chapter. We were awaiting the arrival of the First Grand Principal, when he arrived we resumed the chapter and received the Deputation From the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland. The installation ceremony performed by the Supreme senior Office bearers was Excellent. After the Usual speaches and thanks the Supreme deputation retired after the collection  followed by the Sister Provinces then the Provincial Chapter was Closed. We stayed for the meal and went away before the Speaches, which was a very good ideal  as i was Feeling Really sick and managed to keep it down till i got home but it ruined the rest of my night

David Stewart Gillies Posted on 22/02/2019 by David Gillies25/04/2019

On Friday 22nd February 2019 I attended my Lodge where I am inner Guard. The office bearers of the lodge were conferring the Entered Apprentice degree on an initiate. All I had to do was answer the door. It was a good degree and I was following it in the ritual to learn parts for next year. It was a good meeting but I did not stay for harmony as I have an early start next morning
